Lot 28 2023 Anderson Valley Dry Gewürztraminer
Funny thing, winemaker Katie has been trying to get me to buy this wine since last Spring. We both absolutely adored it but I just kept thinking "how the hell am I going to sell a couple hundred cases of dry Gewürztraminer?" Well, the producer recently offered a price I couldn't refuse and here we are...
...after shipping, I am pretty much giving this away so consider it an early Christmas gift :-)
Sourced from what is perennially one of California's (not to mention Alsace and the Alto Adige) best Dry Gewürztraminerproducer's, this classic from Anderson Valley retails for $28 a bottle and is a delightful deal at $129/case DELIVERED. This is the same wine the producer bottles.
Bright, lively, crisp, complex, and refreshing, Lot 28 2023 Anderson Valley Dry Gewürztraminer is a crystalline, palate-tingling beauty that delivers a remarkably refreshing experience of pure harmonious fruit energized by terrific acidity - perfect for anything from spicy food to the Thanksgiving table.
If you like crisp, refreshing, no oak white wines, I am confident you will love this wine - it delivers huge amounts of joy for just $10+/bottle delivered!
Pale straw gold in the glass and wonderfully aromatic, this is classic Dry Gewürztraminer with just the right amount of fruit and perfume. Honeysuckle blossom and perfectly ripe peach aromas are lifted with citrus and mineral notes. With a little air, beeswax, acacia honey and vetiver perfume halo the bouquet while quince, apple skin and nectarine complex the bouquet. Supple and juicy on entry with chalk acidity providing a zesty structure supporting a panoply of stone fruits like peach and nectarine with beeswax on the finish. Mouthwatering, crystalline acidity keeps things fresh, pretty, and pure throughout with a long, lovely finish. Absolutely gorgeous wine and undeniably delicious.
