Each lot was absolutely stand-alone quality but, the simple fact is, they were better together.

As I mentioned previously with Lot 85 Chardonnay (of which there are still 25 cases so feel free to mix-and-match), the producer wound down their operations earlier this year and we have acquired most of their wines in barrel. They were definitely on the leading edge of the uber-cool-climate, Burgundy-inspired style of winemaking that has recently found its home in the foggy ridges of the West Sonoma Coast. Fully ripe yet weighing in at just 12.5% alc, Lot 83 features crunchy, mouthwatering acidity and remarkable depth and complexity. Like the Chardonnay, the aromatics are simply stunning and worth the price of admission alone.

Here are the vineyards, both are extremely well-regarded:
Occidental Vineyard, Freestone-Occidental, Sonoma Coast - 40% of the blend.
From the producer's website: $150/bottle: Occidental Vineyard covers 5 acres along Taylor Lane, just above the Pacific Ocean. Planted decades ago by the Dutton family on Goldridge and Yorkville loam, the site has passed through several careful stewards while keeping its distinctive character. Coastal redwoods frame the vineyard, and fog drifts in early and departs late, slowing ripening and shaping the fruit. Pinot Noir from this site shows red fruit, rose petal, tea leaf, and coastal spice—an expression of ocean and ridge, sunlight and fog.
Galloni: 95-97 points: The 2023 Occidental Vineyard Pinot Noir is sensational. Only 7 miles from the Pacific, it is one of the coldest areas in all of west Sonoma Coast with the marine layer lingering well into mid-day and returning late afternoon. Goldridge soil with clay peppering closer to Salmon Creek. The extremely cool climate allows for extended hang time before harvest delivering deep complexity.
Vinous: 93- and 94-point scores for 2021 and 2022 vintages
Jeb Dunnock: 96-points for 2021 and 2022 vintages

This is geeky, cool-climate Pinot Noir at its best folks!

This combination of two lots normally retailing for $95-$150/bottle can now be yours for just $149/case!

Pale ruby with a brilliant magenta hue around the rim.
