I have no doubt this offer will go down as LEGEND!

The perfect stylistic amalgam of the highly-structured 2023 vintage and generous, open-knit 2024 vintage, Lot 100 2024 Spring Mountain District Cabernet is a ripe-yet-perfectly-attenuated, rich-yet-ethereal, towering skyscraper of a wine and a gorgeously archetypal representation of Spring Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon.

One of the best performing AVA's for the 2024 vintage, the Cabernet's coming off the upper elevations of Spring Mountain (where the above the fog line temperature inversion led to mild nights and warm mornings but cooler daytime temps vs. the valley floor) are a little richer, little riper, and little bit bolder than usual while maintaining the concentration, freshness, deep color, and excellent tannin structures that make Spring Mountain so special. What makes the 2024 vintage on Spring Mountain even more special is the combination of ethereal mountainside structure and energy with the sucrosite of rich, sappy fruit and vibrant freshness. 2024 is the best of both worlds and I am confident this fantastic Spring Mountain Cabernet will have broad appeal!

I am prohibited from saying anything about this producer other than this is an Icon-level cuvee from high-elevation vineyards that command mid-90-point scores from major critics and a well-over $150+/bottle price point! The wine came to us as a finished blend (to which we made a tiny 2% addition) and there is no reason we would normally have access to this other than the "state of the market". So, while I would love to share more about the sourcing, the Spring Mountain community is small and we've promised to not reveal any pertinent details (including the usual comparable pricing), so you are just going to have to trust me on this one folks. But I promise you, this is dynamite wine!

Opaque, squid-ink core in the glass with deep, vibrant garnet rim. The bouquet is powerful, complex and nuanced up front with blackcurrant, black cherry, graphite, gravel and white flowers underpinned with blackberry compote, mocha, and hints of black forest cake. With air, cassis, plum, leather and tobacco-laced mineral notes complex a beguiling bouquet. Like I said, classic Spring Mountain! Supple and beautifully balanced on entry with ripe black and red fruits enveloped in massive, palate-staining, big-grained, graphite and tobacco-laced tannins that melt away beautifully into a epic finish of blackberry, black cherry and riverstone. The combination of purity and perfect-attenuation with rich, energetic, sappy fruit, powerful structure, and huge, persistent length is incredibly compelling. FANTASTIC!

In keeping with 2024 vintage, and the fact we bottled this unfined and unfiltered, Lot 100 will drink well in its youth and age fantastically well over the next 15- to 20-years, if you can wait that long!
