93-POINTS James Suckling: Aromas of black currants, plums, cassis, dried herbs and cedar. The palate is full-bodied with a smooth, polished mouthfeel, firm yet refined tannins and balanced acidity. Great value. Drink or hold.

92-POINTS Jeb Dunnuck: Cassis, spice oak, violets, and graphite all define the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Lot 17 Napa Valley, a classy, inward, reserved Napa Cabernet Sauvignon that builds nicely with time in the glass. Based on 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petite Verdot, and 5% Malbec and aged in 85% new French oak, it's medium-bodied, balanced, and elegant on the palate, with ripe tannins and an outstanding finish. It's holding things a little close to its vest today, yet I love its overall balance and purity. Give it a year or two and drink over the following decade. Drink 2027-2036.

This bottling blend comes to us from the same producer as Lot 10 and features a fantastic combination of Atlas Bench estate fruit with a significant portion sourced from the "vineyard that must not be named" that straddles Atlas Peak to Pritchard Hill.

Normally priced well north of $125/bottle, this dynamite Cabernet Sauvignon has consistent 93-and 94-point scores from both Parker and Dunnuck for the last two vintages.

However, it's an ABSOLUTE STEAL at $25 PER BOTTLE!

Why the low price? Well, to start with, I got a pretty damn good deal on this wine but I also bought the entire production. Too much to be honest so I am going to blow out a big chunk. blow out, right? Right.

Trust me folks, you are going to want to jump on this one!

Inky and totally opaque in the glass but beautifully aromatic with cassis and blackberry notes, spring flowers, milk choclate, seasoned oak and fresh-turned black earth. With air it becomes more expressive layering in nervy olallieberry, pie spice and graham cracker. Fleshy on entry, juicy yet muscular, a touch more feminine and pretty than Lot 10 (a moose of a wine) but still quite substantially structured with silky, big-grained tannins that carry beautifully attenuated red and black fruits layered over mineral-laced tannins. This is the classic "iron fist, velvet glove" Cabernet but with a sexy, energetic palate quite a bit more open knit than its big brother, Lot 10. . Perfectly ripe, rich and powerful yet nervy and energetic with a fantastic magic carpet ride of a finish, this is an absolutely stunning wine!

RUN, DON'T WALK TO THE BUY LINE, THIS DEAL WON'T LAST FOREVER!

90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petite Verdot, 5% Malbec (our final blend but all components were sourced the same producer)

The Tastry Category Score (“TCS”) represents the “quality-to-price-ratio” or perceived quality of a wine relative to its competitive category.
