Lot 40 2024 Coombsville District Cabernet Sauvignon is a rich, velvety and sumptuous wine sourced from an estate-grown and produced, no-expense spared, $150+/bottle program hailing from one of the most impressive properties in Coombsville. It is fabulously delicious and remarkably approachable, the hallmark of the 2024 Napa Valley Cabernet's.

And, yes, most of the 2024's I have looked at are ready to bottle. Believe it or not, the ripe 2024's are already drinking better than the powerhouse 23's! Giddyup!

Deep ruby in the glass, almost opaque, the bouquet is dense, meaty, chocolatey and toasty right out of the bottle, but quickly blooms in the glass with notes of ripe blackberry jam, crushed raspberries and ripe plum haloed with a pretty purple flower perfume, cocoa dust and kiss of fennel coming off the top. Rich, velvety and super-smooth on entry with gobs of ripe blackberry and damson plum coating supple, beautifully polished tannins leading to a long, silky, dark-chocolatey finish with toasty graham cracker notes. Succulent and sumptuous, this is a wonderfully hedonistic Cabernet Sauvignon that will drink great in its youth but has all the structure there to age another decade. YUM.
