Lot 86 2024 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir is a single-vineyard offering hailing from the a lovely 600+ foot hilltop site in Sebastapol Hills seated in the Goldridge and Steinbeck sandy loam soils the region is famous for. The producer focuses on this cool, hilly region on the western edge of Russian River Valley, farming estate vineyards on both side of the AVA boundary in both the Sonoma Coast and Russian River Valley. 

Regardless of what side of the AVA boundary, all of their Pinot's and Chardonnay's have a decidedly artisanal feel to them with pretty, crunchy, mouthwatering acidity that gives them a particular lightness of being while threading the needle beautifully with physiologically ripeness due to extremely low yields ranging from 1 to 2 tons per acre. This first class winemaking from the hands of a master, I promise, with consistent 93-95 point scores from the likes of Jeb Dunnuck, Antonio Galloni, Wine Enthusiast, Wine Independent, etc.

Beautifully extracted cherry red with lovely magenta hue. The bouquet is fantastic and worth the price of entry alone, opening with ripe wild raspberry and spicy cherry complexed with more savory, umami components like black tea, lavender, rose petal, and forest floor. With air, caramel and dragon fruit notes join the fray, underpinned with earthy blackberry and cedar. Tremendously fresh and complex, this is an unmistakably sophisticated, potent-yet-beautifully elegant wine. Fleshy and perfectly ripe on entry with a pretty melange of red/black fruits, earth and rock perfectly attenuated over crunchy acidity and mineral-laced tannins. Impeccably balanced with perfect oak integration, this fantastic Pinot Noir finishes long and lovely with pretty cherry, raspberry/dragon fruit, lavender and coriander notes echoing throughout a long, pristine finish. With tremendous complexity, purity and precision throughout, Lot 86 perfectly combines Russian River ripeness with Sonoma Coast cool.
